This problem for me is kindof hard to explain, When i open my World of Warcraft or Crysis with my sound on or even WMP running it distorts whatever sounds are playing horribly, Quite honestly it sounds like two trains colliding in your ears. Its disgusting, If anyone has had this problem or even knows how to fix this please help. P.S. I have updated my Realtek HD driver and still have this problem.

CL

Two things to check

1-device manager check your audio driver to make sure its installed and working.

2-Event viewer (type event viewer in search) to see if there are any errors realting to this problem.

Let us know what turns up
