Sound stutters for a second when installing/uninstalling a program

I am having a strange issue with my 2 laptops and 1 dekstop. Whenever I'm listening a song and at the same time I`m installing/uninstalling a program, I have a sound stutters for a second. Every system is with the latest drivers and the mashines are fairly new.

Any ideas? :huh:

The only thing which is the same between the mashines is the operation system, which is Windows 7 64bit.

Sound is on a shared IRQ with another higher priority device. When you are doing other things such as a program install, the sould can be "interrupted" by the higher priority IRQ devices and probably what you are hearing. I wouldn't consider this a "problem">

I was thinking about the following issue... and I am pretty sure thats Windows 7 issue. I agree with the last post but I am still thinking this is not normal...

You could uninstall the sound in the Device Manager (but not the drivers) then restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. Sometimes Windows will reinstall this on a different shared IRQ and fix (or change) the original symptom.

But, there are a lot of things going on when a program is installing and interruptions can happen. Windows handles sound as a low priority device (always has, not just in Windows 7) and thus it can get momentarily interrupted.
