I am using WINDOWS 7 Home Premium after having gone through some PC problems, and for reasons I do not understand I get no sound from my desktop speakers anymore. May anyone be able to inform me as to how I can correct this?

Respectfully Yours,

If you go to Control Panel, Sound, is Speakers active in the Playback section?

Adding to wither2's advice, sound tab has loads of windows default sounds that can be tested - to determine if internal speakers are working and/or external speakers are working. Also, sometimes I have to go the speaker icon in notifications block, mute, then un-mute, that quite often "kicks" the sound into gear (assuming all else is aok).
