Speccy won't recognize my hard drives as SATA. Should I be concerned?

I just ran Speccy... check out the hard drive section (I uploaded the image).

The Kingston is an SSD and the Seagate is an HDD. Both hard drives use a SATA interface, but Speccy shows one drive using IDE and the other as "unknown".

Everything on my system works fine for the most part, but should I be concerned that Speccy doesn't have my interfaces right?

The drives may be SATA drives, but if the controllers aren't set to SATA mode they will run in IDE mode. So to answer your question, no it isn't anything to be concerned about.

Unless you have a controller card installed (doubtful), then it is a bios setting.

You can but don't be surprised if Windows doesn't boot if you change it without making sure there is a SATA driver of some kind installed (may or may not just be detected after the change, and if it is all should be fine; if it isn't Windows won't boot).

Will it make any difference in performance?

For the most part unless you are going to sit and run hard drive benchmarks all day, probably not enough that you would notice.

Read this Tutorial if you want to change from IDE to AHCI (Sata) mode. The AHCI driver gets disabled and this will restore it.

You wont notice any speed gain unless you are running multiple programs with lots of disk activity.
