Speech tutorial not working

Hi windowers,
I have a problem using the windows speech tutorial. when ever i load up the tutorial it turns speech recognition off, so i can't use voice commands in the tutorial. if i cntrl-tab back to the desktop the right click menu is all grayed out on the speech recognition bar, if i quit the tutorial the speech menu comes back to usable.

any ideas?

what mic and drivers are you using?

I'm using an inbuilt realtek mic in an acer laptop, and inbuilt realtek HD audio. could it be my 64bit operating system causing troubles? also when not doing the tutorial the program responds to my commands, just they aren't the right commands.

theres a new codec for what ails ya, just see if that works cos they added voice support with this codec, let me know how it goes
