Speed Increase

Normally my net speed is 29kB/s and i use uTorrent a lot so can i increase my speed?

You could try something called uTorrent Ultra Accelerator. I have not tried it but from what I hear it helps a little bit.

Better a little help then none at all.

Eww that speedtest is ugly (no offense) I have a very slow connection from my neighbor but I still get 3.5mbish on the speedtest.

Are you on dial-up or DSL by chance?

Yuck that is very slow broadband, You should contact your broadband provider and see if their is anything you can do to get faster speeds. Better yet see if theirs anything THEY can do. =P

Hmm.. Well currently I'm using the hospital's Wifi (getting leg looked at) so I'll look into it a bit more when I get home to my nieghbors wifi (double the speed of this lol).

The only option i can see for the speed you've reported is to lower the upload rate in µtorrent (Options -> Preferences -> Bandwidth) try 5Kb/s and see if that helps [See Picture]. Also, make sure download rate is set to '0' for unlimited so it will use your maximum speed available.

When I hit Post Reply, the hospital WIFI shut me out. Anyways I'm home but going to sleep soon.

This may sound stupid but try running Disk Clean-up, then open Command Prompt (run as administrator) and type: defrag c: -w

Better way to defrag =P

Also try looking through programs and disabling "Check for updates automaticaly".

Other then that I have no other advice, sorry. Only thing I could recommend further is getting a new PCI Ethernet card from Bestbuy, Walmart or Newegg.

It should be about 80% of what is available to you - so yours should be set at 28. There is some room to move on this so I would start at 30 and play around from there. Remember as you test to give each setting as much as 30mins or more to observe what is going down.

your global max connections is imo way out. you are simply creating extra work for utorrent. I have mine set at 200 and allow it to download 4 simultaneously. Max connected peers i have at 50 but thats probably too high but I doubt it matters much.

Upload slots per torrent - I have 4.

I get very good speeds up and down - my up is usually near the max (which is great my ratio stays good), my down of course varies but a well seeded torrent I can regularly get 90% of what is theoretically possible.

I presume you have forwarded a port and set a static internal IP address. If not portforward.com will help you with that.

Also if you have the bucks uTorrent Turbo Booster definitely works to increase download speed. I was shocked that it did but it has a dramatic affect on about 50% of torrents especially ones that have difficulty finding seeds. I don't know how it does that, but it is really remarkable to see a Torrent double or triple its speed.
However you must have things working properly to start with.

I've been using 1000/250 for 3 years now & it's never caused an issue. It's in fact helped my speed especialy when not many seeds are available.

The reason he(OP) gets poor speeds is coz he lives in India (THAT ISP in speedtest is a big Indian company)(I've been there also once because some relatives are there... I once looked through indian broadband packages... THEY WERE ALL PRICEY!!! and having packages less than 1.0 Mbit also u pay a LOT..... Broadband isn't affordable so people get the lower packages (like OP)... to OP: if you don't mind can i PM you a special torrent file [should max out your speed+a very fast torrent client (modded bitcomet)] via PM?
