Solved SpeedFan ID & Renaming Devices

Due to a lot of changes in my new rig, I'm having problems identifying devices in SF. Also, I know that it is possible to rename a device, but I can't remember how it was done, and haven't had any luck doing it now. Any guidance would be appreciated.

To rename things click on Configure then click on the tab for the readings you want to change, click on the item and hit F2 and name it whatever you want.

As for what is what most of them seem to be identified correctly. You can uncheck that Aux reading at 93° as it is likely a phantom reading, anything that hot would go up in flames. No idea what those three SMIOVT readings at 40° are, but if they never change then I would just uncheck them and not worry about it.

Since I found that the temperature values of the SMIOVT listings did seem to vary some according to the operation of the PC, I kept Googling and finally found that they are RAM temps. Why there are 3 of them, when I only have 2 sticks installed is beyond me, but I have them disabled on the display anyway, because when they are displayed, there isn't enough room for my hard drives, which I'm more concerned about. However, I have noticed that the RAM temps vary between 37-45 degrees, I'm now wondering what I should consider a max temp for them?

No idea, Patriot doesn't list temps for it in the spec sheet,

While messing with this, I noticed that the Vbat voltage varies much more on this rig than I'm accustomed to, and is also lower than I have seen before. Usually, it always remained pretty steady at ~1.09v, but when I first fired up this rig, it was only .80v, then later .93v, and now only .60v. Any idea of what is going on here?

All things considering that is one reading (and I assume you meant voltage and not temp) I wouldn't worry about as you'll get the indication that the battery is dying when the date and time start to be off.

I don't know if it is true or not, but in a discussion that I had elsewhere, quite some time ago, I was told that Vbat doesn't represent the actual battery voltage, but the voltage of a circuit related to it. I think that it was a circuit that powers this function when power is on, and the battery does the same when the power is off. Whether this is right or wrong, it is not the low value that bothers me so much, as it is the variance in it. Batter or circuit, it should be steady.
