spell check in firefox!

This may seem rather odd ,but on my desktop pc and laptop i use firefox.
On the desktop i have spell check in firefox and when using the laptop firefox does't show typo's or mispelt words, its not that my spelling improves when im on the laptop ,so...how do i enable spell check on the lappy ,i dont recall configuring the desktop firefox to enable spell check, ive scoured the options and the like to try and find it but it to no avail ,anyone got any ideas?

Maybe an Add-On is stopping it. do you use Add-ons? can you disable all add-ons and see if it still does this?

Thorsen thanks i can check but on the lappy i dont have as many addons as i do the desktop ,the ones i do are the same ones on desktop and that is fine

Seems like a corrupt FF profile

ok im starting afresh witht no adons adn misspelling on prupose and nowt happening

why go to ff forum when i can ask here .

2 Reasons:

a. I always go to manufactures sight for answers. You have box checked for spelling and it still doesn't work......so why not?

b. I haven't had my morning share of caffeine yet to deal with you yet!

wlee i reinstalled fli flox and i can definately say my spell chek is working thanks for your help guys , when i uninstalled ff i had an option to save the settings,gotta dash late for school pick up. doh!

No, you will lose all addons if you start with a new profile but you can export your bookmarks

yowanavista , all addons and cookies and settings were saved no problem , which is a relief as i hate re downloading addons

Hey boohbah, just one hint, I'm backing up my FF profile on a usb, so where ever I go, i have my bookmarks and everything else with me. Check it out: Backing up your information

Boobah the FEBE extension will also back up your profile, I use it because every time there is a new java add on or FF update I end up with multiple versions and it takes me about 2 mins to reinstall FF.

thanks guys i kept my profile but reinstalled ff,so it all went well i now have ff backed up thanks to FEBE, thanks for tip .didnt know this addon
