Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - Steam version

Has anyone tried running this version as a non-admin? I get a UAC prompt every single time, even when using a shortcut to "splintercell3.exe". It appears this is triggered by the steam client trying to write a file.

Note that steam is installed into "C:\games" to avoid just this type of problem.

Is it just that game from Steam that has that problem? What about some other Steam games? I have the Last Remnant installed for example through Steam and never have that problem.

Have you tried right clicking on the game in Steam and saying Add to Game Explorer and tried launching from there?
