Hi,

Anyone able to help troubleshoot slow startup for spss v18 (or pasw as its known now). It works great connecting to a network license when i set it up initially using admin account outside of a domain.

But as soon as i sysprepped the pc and join a windows domain and login as any user (whether they have admin rights or not), spss v18 (pasw) takes about 5-6 minutes to load - which is not at all acceptable. In fact there is no splash screen or anything to warn users it is loading, and just appears after several minutes...

I've checked domain firewall settings (even disabled firewall), but still no joy.

However, once spss has loaded after several minutes, any other users logging in afterwards get a quick spss load. Its almost like the first login on the PC from cold takes forever, any reason for that?

Again this only happpens when the pc is in a domain and being sysprepped with spss on it.

Any ideas, i've tried all sorts without success.

same problem

Hi,

I have the same problem. Did you find a solution (or partial solution)? I posted a query on the SPSSforum.com, but no replies yet.

Please let me know. This is intolerable! I would have stayed with 14, but it was very buggy on Win 7.

Thanks,

Scott

using 19 now and much faster to load. Just make sure you add spss to your firewall settings (including domain if its on the network)
