Just wondering, have You tried saving the installer, then unblocking it and setting the compatability to Vista? That's worked for 90% of my installs except for Daemon Tools. See if that helps, because from experience, that has to do with Memory being loaded incorrectly.

SpyBot S&D Kills internet on win 7

I found that when you install SB S&D on windows 7 there is a bug that BLOCKS the internet. Still testing my theory if anyone else notices this. I installed SB and then my computer reported Limited or No Connectivity. Has anyone else reported this? I noticed the problem about 2 weeks ago, internet would come on and off on occasions. Tried Linux to assure it wasn't the network card, Installed a second network card, then Reinstalled my computer because I thought i had a virus. reinstalled SB with NO updates and down it went, Uninstalled and now I have internet again. Oh well, going to run without SB for a while and see if i get the same error. Report back in a week. then i will try SB again just to see. Can't live without my SpyBot ;)

Update: Microsoft finally released a fix for this issue. The update has been released on June 9th. If you experienced problems with IE8 and Spybot's immunization, please download the update "KB969897" via the Windows updates or download your copy directly at Microsoft.

Long time user of S&D. No problems to report. The referenced difficulty was an IE8 issue. MS released a fix.

I thought it was experienced with Spywareblasters immunization too, not just Spybot SD. I guess maybe it was both. Wasn't aware that MS had a fix for that problem.

I used to like Spybot, but since updates to the program are practically non existent, or way to few and far between for me, and only malware definitions are updated, even those are kind of slow to come in, I never use it anymore. Plus IMO, it's ugliness and awkwardness make Avast's current GUI look like a beauty queen. Of course, that has no relevance on the performance of the program. But hey, just some of my own opinions. Not to be confused with advice. ;)

True dat. The issue was anything that lengthened the blacklist.

I do not use the TeaTimer TSR, but I do use the IE plugin. I cannot recall running a Spybot scan this year. Running it now, before I post...
