Does anyone know if SQL 2005 tools will work on a system with Windows 7 OS?

I didn't try it, but I know of users who installed it and it worked fine.

Yes, when you install it w7 will warn you to install SP3 before using it. If you are using BIDS (which is visual studio 2005) you will need to install SP1 + a special "vista + 7" patch (which will show up in windows update).

Visual Studio 2005 will warn you to run as administrator or some things may not work. So far all the stuff I do as a database programmer works in VS2005 without running as administrator.
