any time i try and download windows updates it gives me error my sqmapi.dll is missing to redownload and install it, the only thing is i am not able to find it.

You may need to create a Windows 7 Installation DVD to replace any missing or corrupted files.

Beforehand, though I would run a full scan with:

• Microsoft Security Essentials
• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

Flash drive for the Windows 7 DVD? You could always use a CD; have you performed the two scans I suggested yet?
