Whats the difference beetwen Iron and Chrome?

Chrome thrilled with an extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features. But it also gets critic from data protection specialists , for reasons such as creating a unique user ID or the submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome - but without the critical points that the privacy concern.

The current version of Google Chrome uses Version 530.5 of the Rendering-Engine WebKit, how the Browserstring tells. In Iron we obviously use the most actual WebKit-Version (530.9).

Thanks, SIW2 - been a busy summer (and it's only begun for me)...

I have a 4 day weekend, what with the American Independence day celebrations on Saturday, so I figured I finally had time to poke my head in here.

As for Iron - yeah, it and 10 other browsers all work well for me on 7100 x64....

The only difference that i know between these two is they are build on Chromium code.

I thought it was self explanatory but those who missed, its between Iron and Chrome.

And I thought my post above was self explanatory - Chromium is German translated back to English - IOW- it means it is based upon *Chrome*.

The *difference* is that it removes all the little Google spying that Chrome does on your web usage.

Iron is my main browser since more or less 3 months...love it...(i 'dumped' firefox)...this german guys did a great job stripping down chrome from all those background stuff...supports user scripts and the only ones i need are adsweeper(adblock) and flashblock...fast, light and reliable, the qualities needed. tried the beta but i found it a litlle buggy, so i´m using the stable one.
