ssc card & hard drive.

Excuse my ignorance, but i want to do a clean install of Windows 7 home premium 64bit on an ssd card, but keep all data libraries etc on a 1.5 tb hard drive.
How do i set up Windows to do this automaticly.
I have a back up of our data on Macrium reflect. on an external drive.
The Windows 7 is set up at the moment on a 1.5 hard drive.

As far as I know, there is no way to install Windows 7 to an SD card. Are you wanting to install on a Solid State Drive (SSD)? Check out these tutorials: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

Yes thats what i meant a solid state drive.
Or do you think with solid state drives still in there infantcy, a Western Digital VelociRaptor would be better.

If you can afford an SSD, I highly recommend buying one. The velociraptors are slightly slower, but use more energy, get hotter, and are more apt to fail, being mechanical.

SSDs will improve, and the price will come down, but they are still very fast.

Thanks so much, i will get an SSD.
Still not sure how to make all the libraries & data go onto the 1.5tb hard drive seperate from windows on the SSD.
Do i have to manually transfer,or is there an option of where to put it when i clean reinstall windows.

Go ahead and do a clean install onto the SSD. Then all your data will still be left on your 1.5. Just remember to unplug your 1.5 from your computer before installing.

The 1.5tb is in the Corsair Obsidion case, where i also intend to put the SSD in another bay.
So i just take the 1.5tb out which is easy, just slides out.
After i have installed windows on the ssd, & put the 1.5 back in, will windows recognise where to put data.
Then can i delete windows 7 on the 1.5.
Sorry to be a pain, but i have only ever installed everything on the same drive.

Finally i have got an ssd drive, a Kingston ssd now v+series 64 gb.
I have installed Windows 7 64bit on it with no problems, after following your advice.
At the moment i have removed it, & re-installed the old hard drive & am booting from that.
Can you now explain how to use the ssd to boot from & the hard drive for data, & connect all my old data, to windows on the ssd.
would you also put any other programs on the ssd, or just use it for windows.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Only use the SSD for Windows; place your programs on another drive.

Jonathan has this covered pretty well, my 2 cents is to back up your SSD to the hard drive weekly. As you said SSD's are in their infancy and you may need to update your firmware, wipe it to get performance back or as in my case replace a failed one. SSD reliability between failures is great, up time for an OS installed on them is not so great.

With due respect for my friend Jonathan I disagree with one point. You should install the programs on the SSD. That is the whole point of the SDD - fast access to programs. However all your data may reside on the HDD.
And don't be shy regarding the SSD. There is too much mystery surrounding it. Just treat it like any disk. As long as there is space on it, use it. And don't do any of that "recommended" tweaking like placing the page file on another disk, etc.
The easiest way to include your folders that are now on the 1.5TB drive, just navigate to the folder(s), right click on it and "Include in Library". Then you choose the library where you want to include it.
PS: I image my SSD (which also has a data partition) frequently - every time I made changes to either the system or the data and a scheduled image every second day. But the imaging due to change I do independently, i.e. data partition and system partition each at their own pace, as required.
