SSD Alignment

Hi everyone,

[FONT=&quot]I have Intel X-25M 80 GB SSD. I want to install Windows 7 Pro x64, MS Office and other application on it.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Should I create partition primary align=1024 or Create partition primary size=100 align=1024?[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]

I assume you are using diskpart????

I think the first one will create a single partition covering the entire drive.

I think the second one will create a small 100 mb partition that you could then make the system partition.

But you don't need that small system partition, so I would do the first command.

I don't think you even need the align part of the command.


Then:

select partition 1

active

format fs=ntfs quick

exit

All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.
I checked my partition by diskpart:
