SSD Benchmarks going OVER Rated Speeds!

Previous Motherboard: Asus M3A78-T
OS: Win 7 x64
SSD: Kingston Technology Company - SSDNow Product Information - SSDNow V Series Drive 128GB – 200MB/sec. read; 160MB/sec. write

When I FIRST got my SSD (with setup above) my benchmarks were pretty much at what the stated specs were...overtime it slowed down (no matter what i did, yes TRIM is on), to about 160MB/read...

I'm currently testing another motherboard (with same SSD, OS, all else same) the new motherboard is Foxconn A7DA-S...the motherboard is sent in from a warranty claim, anyways the bios that is on here is P02 which isn't even listed on foxconn's website (the oldest is P03)...The info says this bios is from 2008...anyways moving on..

With this bios/mobo + SSD, i'm getting 230MB/second benchmarks!!! WTF??? How can it go OVER the stated specs?

Just curious, I updated it to the newest bios, and right after the bios was updated I ran the benchmarks again, and it dropped back down to 160-170MB (same as the asus Board)....WTF?

So curious again...I "downgrade" the bios to the P02 one, and the benchmarks jump back up to 230MB/second...What is going on? Is this really happening? If so why?

I would like to add that the benchmark results are both with HD Tune and AS-SSD.

The results are similar for both (when one is 160MB, so is the other, and etc)

So I have to ask, am i REALLY getting 230MB/second sequential read right now? How is that even possible?

When the benchmarks report 160MB ballpark, the associated access times are .4 ms and 19-20% CPU usage

When the benchmarks are around 220MB ballpark, the associated access times are .2 ms and only 10.4% cpu usage!!!!

those are some very drastic performance gains, but why? are they even real?

I would reccomend doing some research on the benchmarking programs your using to see if others are satisfied with the reults then if so just accept your gains and be happy.

I wish I had your 'problem'. Try an elevated command prompt and run "winsat disk" without the quotes.

Update:

My mobo is Foxconn A7DA-S and I have since updated the BIOS from P02 to P09 (most recent). Initially I didn't want to upgrade as with the new BIOS i Could not maintain those speeds with the SSD. However I was forced to upgrade since the previous bios, the bios would reset every single time the computer shut down (yes CMOS is cool).

So anyways, with this new bios and AHCI enabled, at first the benchmarks went back to 160MB/second. Then I ran it again the next day jsut for kicks and now its back up to 230MB/second!!

I added an attachment. No clue what is causing this extra performance...

Has anyone ever experienced something like this?
