I've just developed a really odd problem , my boot drive keeps loosing available space . Not much but there is no reason why it should be installing anything . For an instance about an hour ago I wrote down that I had 24.8gb available space , I watched a few youtube vids , and had a look at my available space and it has gone down to 24.7gb . It isn't much , but it has been happening all day , and enough for me to notice .

I haven't downloaded anything, or changed anything in my rig . All I have done in the last 24 hours is move everything from 1 case to another . I have done a full virus and malware scan and everything is fine . I should also add that the motherboard is only 2 weeks old , so when I installed it , I reformated all drives for a fresh start and for a nice clean install of W7 .

I'm at a loss on this matter please help .

These spikes between up and down can be caused by temporary files that might have been deleted, like windows update backups no longer needed, or other files scheduled for deletion.

Windows has a folder called Installer that keeps possible upgrade and uninstall information on it, so when you install something on another drive, it will, regardless, keep the information on the Installer folder, making it bigger.

So, say you install Microsoft Office on Drive D, while C is your boot drive. C:/ Will receive about 600 MB of upgrade information. That's just microsoft office though, most programs only keep 1 mb, less or none at all.

You want to free up space? Try disabling hibernation file, reducing page file size (by the way, you should specify how much RAM you have on your System Specs), uninstalling programs no longer needed, running ccleaner, deleting windows update backups or windows upgrade things ( with extended disk cleaner, there is a tutorial here in sevenforums ). Stuff like that.
