SSD install trouble

I need help please. I had a HDD that had Windows 7 on it. I bought an SSD to install just windows on. I have got the upgrade version of Windows 7. So I was able to install windows 7 and it booted up fine. I then plugged in my other hard drive to get some stuff from it, but when it booted up again it seems that both hard drives have now died. They are not showing up in the bios either. I have another sata drive that is just blank and this shows up in bios. I have done cmos. Is there something I am missing, what would be the chances of both these drives going together. Sorry if post is messy am using very small android phone as no pc atm. I would be grateful for any help anyone could give, thanks.

comes back?

Thanks for quick reply. Yes I have tried all 3 on their own and the only one that seems to show up is the blank one. They are all sata drives, I thought it might be an issue between motherboard and drives but as they are all sata so I don't know, also if this was the case it wouldn't of shown up in the first place. What are the chances that 2 drives could die at the same time?,thanks.

My guess is that when you reconnected the old drive and rebooted, your BIOS changed the boot order to put the old drive first, and you unknowingly booted into the old drive, not the SSD.

At this point, I would try booting into the BIOS and resetting it by choosing the default settings or Optimized settings -- if that is available -- and then seeing if it redetects the SSD.

^^^ what he said. i think you should do a clean install of windows.

1) go reset your bios
2) plug your SSD into sata port 1
3)unplug all other HDD's
4)do a clean install of windows, no "upgrade"

I am unable to do another install as the hard drives do not show up in the bios. If I let the screen carry through I get the message that the boot disc is missing. I have reset the bios and the drives still do not show up.

Yes it was earthed. Anyway I installed windows on another hard drive, I then booted it up plugged in my other HDD that I thought was dead and it showed up in my computer, so I think it is a motherboard issue, I have a gigabyte motherboard 965-ds3, I think it has issues with SSD drives, thanks for all your help though.

Call SSD's Tech Support to get their help. They will have a way to help you test it or just RMA it straight away.

All of this hardware normally has a one year warranty. How about the HD?
