Hey everyone,

can you help me out please?

I am thinking of buying SSD disks and maybe into a raid-0 config with 2 disks
(thinking of these OCZ 30 GB OCZ OCZSSD2-1VTXT30G). My MB (Asus M4N-72E) should support RAID, but does it work with SSD? Or do I need a special adapter?

Thnx for your replies!

Grtz Wolfert

If your board supports RAID then go for it.

edit: it sure does. Make sure you get up to date drivers for the board first

Thnx already for the quick response! And how do you enable the RAID? In the BIOS maybe?
Bit of a noob on this one I'm afraid ;)

how is that RAID 0 SSD setup working for you? I was thinking about doing the same thing. Is it fast?

That's an interesting question. But how fast is really, really fast. I have a single SSD and think it is plenty fast. Such that my 2.5GHz duo core seems to have trouble keeping up with it. Those 30GB OCZs from NewEgg are a good deal - for $89.99.

Hey WHS,

at the moment I'm strugling with the firmware update and my mobo drivers. As soon as it works well, you'll read it here. Tough it's not as fast as it can be, it's already screamingly fast.

Grtz!

That would be nice to get a live Raid0 report about the 30GB OCZs (I assume those are the ones you got). Thank you.
