Solved Stalling at shutdown for 20 minutes before BSOD and restart

I've had severe problems with this computer. The most recent one is stalling at shutdown and a bsod before an automatic restart.
I've also been attempting to reinstall the nvidia drivers but have been running into severe problems with that as well as random freezing to the system.



Any help you can give me is appreciated

Update: Managed to fix the nvidia problems, now just dealing with the BSOD.

* On top of your head, when did you manage to install Daemon Tools?
* What diagnoses have you done so far (could be Memtest86+, Furmark etc.)
* Have you installed anything new recently? (drivers, software or hardware)

You've made an edit saying you fixed something related to your Graphics Card. I don't know if the NFO is too old to display that it's been fixed, but at least it showed failure at the VxD loader. This can indicate a bad return address between the operation system and the driver (or software).

If you fixed it, it'll be gone in the Device Manager

Problem devices can be found in your Device Manager. Search Device Manager in Start, and look for :warn:. Note that if the warning sign isn't there, select View on the top of the window, and end with Show hidden devices.​

Also uploading a new NFO would be useful.

• How to catch a standalone nfo file.

  • To get this: Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box -> When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember -> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info -> Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

sptd    ROOT\LEGACY_SPTD\0000    This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

Daemon Tools is installed. It's a known BSOD causer on some systems, therefore it's a recommendation to uninstall it. Instead you could use MagicISO as a replacement. To get fully rid of the Daemon Tools roots and drivers, use this tool.

Apparently my first message didn't make it through. I did run Furmark and Memtest on my own and brought the system in for hardware reports at two different repair shops, both of which said that there was nothing wrong with it.

While I did fix the nvidia issue, i'm still having freezing problems but I think I'm going to attempt an upgrade reinstall to see if that fixes any damaged system files that startup recovery can't fix. If that doesn't work i'll do a complete reinstall. Thank you for your help .
