It had problems in XP, but that got patched...was unplayable in Vista, but then with Win7 I had hopes that maybe something was changed to allow for more compatability with old games...
So I finally get around to trying it out here...but apparently still nothing. Should I just give up on one of my favorite racing games or is there still hope??

If it didn't work with Vista at all (even with compatability mode etc.) then it won't work in 7 unfortunately.

If you have Windows 7 Proffesional, Enterprise or Ultimate you can use Windows XP mode (Download Windows XP Mode) and run it through that.

If you have Basic or Home Premium and you have an old copy of 2000/XP kicking about you could try using Virtual Box (http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads)which accomplishes the same thing as XP Mode.

Both these solutions run an older version of Windows Virtually within Windows 7.
