Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but I was wondering if there was a way for my windows 7 Home Premium computer to start up on it's own(without hitting the power button)? Apple Inc. can do this, but how do I do it with windows 7? By the way, I have a Toshiba Satellite, I got it in December of '09, so it's roughly new.

Thanks ahead of time,
~curt

Hello curtranhome;

You may be able to find a setting in the computer BIOS that will automatically power up a computer at a specific time. I would suggest you get the PDF Users Manual from the Toshiba web site to find where to find this function.

Cheers!

OS
...
hi hope this helps :D
1. Shutdown your PC.

2. Turn on your computer and enter boot setup, The key for this is different for every PC and is usually displayed in the top right hand corner, on my PC the key was F2.

3.Skip through the pages of your BIOS by pressing " ALT+P " this may differ from system.

4. Come to a page called " Power Management " if you do not have a page called this, Look on each page for two things saying " Auto on mode " and " auto on time ".

5. Turn " Auto On Mode " to Everyday Or weekdays, Then Turn " Auto On Time " to the time you would like ( It's in 24 Hours Time ).

6. Press ESC or the exit key you have, And if it prompts you to save your changes, Hit save.

7. Restart your computer and it will now automatically boot if your PC is off at that exact time.

(on laptops i think you have to have the lid open and the power off)

No, just more of a high-tech alarm clock that will automate somethings and get them done while I get up, just to make things faster on my part.

and brianzion, I do not have the auto-start things in my BIOS. Is there another way?

RE: Auto Boot

Hey, I haven;t fixed my problem yet. I have looked in my BIOS but found nothing that had anything to do with a 'Auto-Boot' option. Is there anything else? :sarc:
