Hi,

Some friends of mine have stressed out their Windows 7 to the extent of somehow sending the Start Button up to the top of the screen :-o Is there a simple and painless way of restoring their desktop display please?

Thanks

:)

Do you mean the button alone is on the top or the whole taskbar. In any case, running sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt might fix it.

if you mean the whole taskbar is now at the top, then you can simply drag it back down again.

right-click an empty bit of taskbar, make sure it isn't locked.

then simply drag it down, grabbing it with the left-mouse button again on an empty bit of space.

Thanks and also to whs,

That's probably it then - just drag it back - I doubt they locked it unless by happy (ie. unhappy) accident :-o

Thanks again :)

Task Bar: how to move it around?

Hi,

Okay, the bottom task bar has placed itself to the right of the desktop, like a right hand margin. I can stretch it left to right but I cannot drag it around, I cannot mouse-drag it back down to the bottom of the screen.

The tool bar is not locked.

Please let me know how to enable the mouse-drag procedure?

Many thanks ...

UPDATE

Just confirmed that the taskbar should drag if unlocked, and it doesn't.

Solution: right-click taskbar > go to properties > navigate taskbar to top, right, left or bottom from the window which opens.
