Start Menu icons stacking up?

Hi everyone, I have this one problem. Normally in the start menu there's the list of recent used programs but on Win7 there is only a single icon representing the most recent used program, when I right click to hide it the next one appear in his stead as if they were all stacked up together. Anything I can do to change that? ( Hoping I'm in the right forum to ask ^.^ )

may be a bit basic but have you checked the start menu properties ( right click start orb - properties - customise start menu ), there is a scroll box to set the number of programs shown ...

Well what do you know, it worked ^.^ Guess I wasn't aware of that menu, having been a heavy Windows XP user. Thanks for the kind answer.
