Those are all well and good suggestions, but my Startup or Start folder is empty.

The software I want to start up is "Nordvpn" I can it manually, but that is PITA.

The option is already included in the software. https://support.nordvpn.com/FAQ/Set...ows-7-and-later-versions.htm#General settings

Many VPNs probably have this, mine does. Just be aware that some site may not like your IP address and/or think or an evil doer. So in the case of PayPal or eBay or your bank, they may either A) present you a CAPTCHA or other security rigamarole, or in the case of PayPal may straight up and ban your account. At least that's what I read many years ago. With VPNs being all the rage now-a-days perhaps they realized their overzealous attitude about VPNs. This is why I only fire up my VPN on a per use case need and not for the whole thing. That's why I'll never do the whole VPN in a router approach unless it's via a vLAN in the router its self for a per use case basis. This is what you'd want to do for Kodi or what ever the hell. I don't use that myself.

Looks like I'm "unprotected." I love that marketing crap. It's as if they never bothered to query the usage type.

F22 Simpilot The reason I this is I have a Firetv Stick and get the internet on that I have to have a good VPN. Yes I do believe a lot of what we see about using a VPN is hype.

I have where it will boot up, but I still have tell it to connect to a server. I would like it to do this automatically, but I can live with this if I have to.

Starting up a program on bootup can be done by using either the startup folder in start menu or using task scheduler. The startup folder would be simplest. Just copy the shortcut for the program and put it in there. If you are asking how to have the VPN autoconnect when it loads that isn't a windows setting but is built into the program. I would check the settings.
