I have two physical drives, my boot C: and a split partitioned E: and F: drives

I have just replaced my cpu fan (which was starting to fail) and put everything back together. On startup, it began to run ChkDsk and started checking everything on my E and F drive for some reason. Then it started deleting files and completely wiped my F: drive from My Computer, with only a handful of files remaining on my E: drive.

I have lost a lot of very valuable information, especially on my lost F drive (although I can see it on Disk Management). I really need to reactivate my drive and try to put everything back as it was.

Can someone please, please help. This is causing a lot of heartache.

Many thanks.

Check disk doesn't wipe healthy files it only removes files that are corrupted after it tried to reclaim them so the chances are all the files were to far gone to be any good so any recovery is likely to be not fruitful

:ditto:

As you opened the case to change the fan, check if all power and SATA cables are well fixed.
Run a diagnostic tool for the drive.
