I just bought a HP Compaq laptop 6735b model. It is suppose to be ready out of the box.I started it up and windows installation began.I accidentally shut it down.when I restarted the computer,a error message came up saying:because of unexpected shutdown, computer needs to be restarted for windows installation can continue.I clicked on the ok button several times and computer restarted only to have the same error appear. What can I do?

Well hopefully you didnt corrupt anything by accidentally turning it off during install. If you did that once it shouldnt be the worst thing; but if it happens too many times it can corrupt files. As for fixing this well i would just try to continue with install again. If nothing seems to be working there should be a windows oem disc that came with the system. I would use that to try and do a repair install if needed. (someone else can correct me if needed)

If repeated restarts won't get you back into Setup, then I would try running Factory recovery from its hotkey shown on the first boot screen: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7) | HP® Support

If this doesnt' work because Win7 is not native to that PC, then you can probably get a much better install anyway by doing a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Make sure the OS Product Key is readable on the COA sticker pictured in tutorial, and that you choose the ISO file to burn to DVD or bootable flash stick for the listed version of Win7.

Be sure to delete all partitions during the reinstall process as discussed in tutorial, since the Recovery doesn't run.
