Since its brand new, the only fault should be factory made. Lke the guy above said, return it.

I of course agree with the 2 above posters, but just one additonal piece of advice. Don't wait. After Christmas there are many people bringing back their gifts. Some people who bought themselves items in June, then decided that its not wanted in August, wait until the Christmas rush and say it was a gift, I do not have a receipt. Retailers are very agreeable. Act now and you will get a replacement with no problem

It seems only Toshiba note has the error like F3-xxxxxx
I just bought a NB200 about 10 hours ago
So I just want redivide the disk patition, and I reload the Win7 like you
But 1 hour past, and i receive the message: "ERROR: F3-F100-0004"
Then I wish can find someone put the disk image on the internet
or I can download the win7 from microsoft website,or i can use usb cdrom install a windows xp first
but I can't
It seems the only way is send the note to the service department

True, when an error message appears, the likes of F3 F100-0004, a human being programmed machine to display so.
My question is, to Toshiba human being programer, now that this is an issue, and so why make the solution so obscure?
Ahem, bs. Otherwise fix the problem before machine ever need to display the error message.

There is not a user friendly nor viable solution on line at the moment, so wtw? Toshiba, MicroSoft, you killing me, us, again what the what?

I know this post is old, but in case anyone else has the same problem and comes across this: The error indicates that there is physical damage or a physical flaw in the hard drive. There is nothing you can do to fix it, you need to replace the hard drive. :D
