Start-Up program called _uninst_70530835.lnk ?

I've scanned the file location directly with Malwarebytes and MSE with clean results. I've never seen this before, nor have I checked my start-up programs via CCleaner before. I cannot find anything remotely related through Google.

Does anyone have any idea what this may be? Advise? I'm currently afraid to disable it, since it might be vital to system start-up (e.g. load user account).

Hello Phy and welcome to Seven Forums. My usual disclaimer: I'm not an expert at anything.

It's my understanding that a .LNK file is a shortcut file which is simply a pointer to an .EXE file somewhere on your system. Clicking on the shortcut is like clicking on the .EXE file and the associated program should start and run. Your unknown .LNK file appears to be associated with some kind of uninstaller. I don't think it would have anything to do with your startup files and I think you could safely disable it - probably even delete it because the asociated .EXE file should remain intact.

You could create a system restore point just in case something goes wrong. Or better yet, a system image on an external hard drive. That way you could return your computer to the same condition it was in at the time you disabled/deleted the .LNK file.

I am fairly certain that the .lnk file in question was installed as a part of a Kaspersky free virus scan that I downloaded. The file is set to self-uninstall after use, so I imagine that a computer restart triggers that. The file is no longer in my start-up listing, regardless.

Thanks again for the quick response, I have long recognized sevenforums to be one of the best computer information, discussion, and assistance forums (among perhaps other things). Though this is my first spoken word here, it is certainly not my first time in.
