Win7 does not require tweaks. It will work against you in almost every case in the long run.

I uncheck everything in msconfig>Startup except AV and gadgets. Make sure you have the latest drivers in Device Manager: check optional Windows Updates and the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device.

Work through repeat errors in Event Viewer>Admin View by googling the text and ID number to find solution.

Clean and order the HD monthly using state-of-the-art CCleaner and Auslogics Disk and REgistry defraggers.

Mellon has it right - no reg tweaks. And if you can't help it, back up your registry.
You can check your bios settings.

Which drivers? If they are erroring in Event Viewer then their absence is affecting performance. I would install them anyway, or disable the device in Device Manager.

Troubleshooting in the Event logs is an intuitive process that involves googling the error text and identification numbers to read as much as you can find until you understand the error enough to tackle it and take it down. I have sometimes had as many as a dozen chronic errors which took me from a day to several months to finally resolve. Some will even become apparent to be harmless.

i will post them when i find them coz i do not have my computer with me as you might know and i know one of the drivers is
nvstor32 that failed to load

The most dramatic improvement you can get by installng a SSD for the OS. Boot times of 15 to 20 seconds are typical for a SSD configuration.

If you have your OS on a SSD (e.g. an OCZ Vertex or a 2G Intel) and the boot time is still 2 minutes, then there is something seriously wrong. I suggest you have a look at this thread to determine at which part of the boot process the holdup is.

Yeah, but that is too long. There are really 2 phases:

1. the part that the BIOS needs including the BIOS splash screen
2. the part that starts with "Windows Starting" and the colored windmill which is the OS boot until the internet connection is available.

You have to distinguish between those 2 phases because the problems of a possible delay will have completely different causes.
On my system (OCZ Vertex, 4GB, Q6600) 1+2 take about 36 seconds whilst 2 alone is less than 15 seconds.

Is your boot drive near the top of the boot priority list in the bios or near the bottom? If you have the system set to look for a LAN or a USB drive first, that consumes precious seconds. Also, if you have a lot of external devices plugged in all the time, boot can slow down.

BTW, your bios is dated 2007. Looks kinda old to me. Look around for an update.

Another thing. You can create a new account and try logging on to it. If it logs on quicker, then it may be a corrupted profile.

Looks like you have NVidia chipset which often times needs the full download rather than just what Win7 installer gives.

Make sure you have the latest Nvidia update from 1) optional Windows Updates or 2) the Support Downloads webpage for your computer model, or 3)http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx. Same with display driver or any others that error out.

I think that the best software you are looking for is definately CCleaner!

Just remove all startup programs!
