Startup/Booting Issues with win 7

Hi everyone,

(Got to sawy this first, this is a great forum, i see hundred of issues being resolved, i wish i get some here too :) )

I cant seem to log in...i cant seem to boot.

the system come on and stays in the windows flag position permanently!

when I try to go into my recovery to do a repair, i get a 'bootmanager' error.

So now i cant log in to my recovery, cant log into safe mode and windows wont boot!

I dont have recovery disks, my recovery is still on a partition.

Please, any help???

Boot up using the Startup disk CD or Windows 7 DVD. (not the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disk) If you have a Netbook, you will need a CD/DVD drive.
Make sure no USB drives are plugged in.

Do a Strartup Repair:

Can you find another Win7 computer to make a Repair CD as shown in Theog's link?

Let us know what happens when you run Startup Repair from Repair CD repeatedly.

Or you can copy out your files using BarefootKid's method with Repair CD, or free Paragon Rescue CD, then run Factory Recovery also shown in Theog's links.

I was able to use another system to create a recovery and when it ran, it showed;

file: \windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe
Status: 0xc0000098
info: windows failed to load because the kernel is missing or corrupt.

I tried the startup repair but from safe mode command prompt (twas the only was i could get to command prompt that worked. but when i try copying the files as directed, ifor the first part, it copied some and said some could not be copied...
for the second copy command, it said 0 files copied. said all the files were in use. so ireally couldnt achieve anything...

i made a recovery disc from an exact similar system and the result was a page saying :

When I post a link which shows how to set the CD drive to boot first in BIOS setup, why do you just ignore it, fail to ask any questions back about doing it correctly, then repeat the same thing about an error which means it's booting to HD instead? Then you go on to say you ran Startup Repair from Safe Mode command line which is not possible and nothing near what you were told to do. If you can't do the steps, are you able to ask questions about how to get them done?

This is what it looks like when you are booting the CD correctly: System Repair Disk. Is it doing this?

If it is not giving you a prompt to "Press any key to boot CD" after setting CD drive to boot first in BIOS setup, then you may need to burn another CD.

You can also try booting the CD drive using the HP F9 or ESC one-time BIOS Boot Menu key.

Once CD is booted, does it find an installation to repair, then what happens at reboot? If it fails to start, reboot into CD, click through to Recovery options list to run Startup Repair repeatedly. Report back results.
