Hi,

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on a 1.8 Tb Hard Drive of which only 500 gb is formatted.

I bought the PC from Aria in Manchester, UK in May.

My PC is having issues with starting up - in recent weeks it starts up, and then either does not make it past the BIOS screen so I have to to a force shut down, or, more recently, I shut the PC down cleanly without an issue, but then start it up again and see a DOS type screen where it says there has been a problem and do I want to start windows normally, or try to repair.

Today I chose to start it normally, and it ran a CHKDSK which repaired lots of files (lots of white writing whizzed past on the screen confirming what was being fixed).

If I choose the repair option, I am told that a problem has been found and am asked if I want to restore to a previous restore point. If I opt not to do that, it tries to do a repair, which does not complete.

I have looked in Event Viewer and can see lots of Critical events with a source of "Kernel-Power":

Code:
Critical 21/04/2013 10:18:26 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 21/04/2013 12:32:34 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 22/04/2013 05:53:57 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 20/05/2013 18:24:01 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 21/07/2013 17:10:28 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 13/06/2013 19:43:22 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 10/07/2013 06:36:53 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 10/07/2013 20:46:06 Kernel-Power 41 (63)
Critical 29/07/2013 17:20:30 Kernel-Power 41 (63)

This page talks about the error:
Kernel Power Event 41

It says it happens when the PC does not shut down correctly.

I have already had to return the PC to Aria to get a new power supply unit fitted as the old one died.

Given all of these issues I am having with it, and the fact that Event Viewer backs me up with evidence, would I be justified in taking the PC back and asking for a refund as it seems pretty flaky to me?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks
