Startup Repair won't work

I have the same problem on my Acer Aspire 5738ZG with Win7 Home Premium. It's been going on for almost two weeks.
The Startup Repair won't work and the only way I can complete the boot is by reinstalling Windows (which I've done roughly every 2 days or so). I know it's something about explorer.exe not starting, but shouldn't a clean reinstall (recovery to factory settings) have fixed the error? I really don't know what to do and I'm afraid to just go and experiment things in the registry (unless I have clear instructions about what to do).
Is there any other way? I really need my computer to keep its windows for more than a couple of days... Thanks in advance!

Welcome Sonkido. This thread is 1.5 years old. Can you be a bit more specifi about your problems and what you have tried to fix it? your issues may be quite different than the original poster (OP).

Britton30, thanks for the reply. Well, I'm not really sure myself what's going on. I've been reading around this type of issue and I've seen problems from years ago, similar problems I mean. Well, everything's going well, until a point when Win won't start. Startup repair is not working and I've seen explorer.exe may be the problem. The only way I could get in was by taking my laptop back to factory settings.

I would, Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

theog, thanks for your reply, I checked the link, and I understood that my hard drive brand is Western Digital, it redirected me to a site where I had to pick several products and I'm not sure which one I should pick...

Use this http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?lang=en and navigate to the page for your drive. this should get a download to run from within Windows and a DOS version which can run at boot if burned to a bootable disk.
