I have a Intel D946GZIS mainboard, I downloaded file AUD_allOS_D20001.0x_PV_IDTGUI_v105_Legacy.exe on Intel Website for Audio driver. After setup it, I enabled the Stereo Mix on Recording Devices list. But when I set it as default device, it doesn't work.

Whether I pluged the microphone jack in , the IDT Audio Control Panel still show no jack connected. I think this driver doesn't work well in Windows 7

What should I do to solve this problem?. Thanks a lot!

I have an Intel DP35DP motherboard and I tried to install the IDT drivers from the Intel site on my Win 7 64 bit system and they wouldn't install. I even tried installing in Vista compatibility mode, as I had it working in Vista, but they would not install. When I upgraded to Win 7, I installed a SoundBlaster Xfi Fata1ty sound card installed but it was interferring with my recording studio program (Sonar) and I needed something else for Windows sound. The IDT (SigmaTel) drives would not install but fortunately I had an HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card and I installed that and got sound working in Win 7.

Updated: Here is something from a different thread on installing the Intel drivers. Posts there report it works. Try or use it at your own risk.

Step 1:

Ok, first you need to copy the sound driver files
off the cd that came with your motherboard into any folder on your computer.

Step 2:

Second, navigate to the folder you pasted the drivers in.
Then go to IDT, then WDM and lastly Vista.

Step 3:

Next, open both ---_WRT_---_--_--.INI files in notepad.
For example mine were called, "ECS_WRT_202_G2_DY.INI" and "ECS_WRT_206_G2_DY.INI"
Under the [Models]category remove all occurences of "&SUBSYS_--------"
For example it should read,"
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7680=this

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682=this
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7683=this"

Now save both files and start the copied installer, and it should work

According to you, I should buy a new PCI Audio Card?

A separate sound card is what I used, however I already had the card so it didn't cost me any extra money.
