stereo mix

I wanted to use multiple outputs from my sound card.
I read and found using stero mix in recording device and checking listen to this device does the trick and works perfectly. Well almost, the problem is now my computer won't go into sleep mode.
Is there a way around this? tried powercfg -REQUESTSOVERRIDE DRIVER "Realtek High Definition Audio" SYSTEM
that didn't work. Is there any other solutions or suggestions.

Stereo Mix has no affect on sleep mode or other PC functions. If you are having those problems it is a coincidence (unless you did some Registry or system tweak then there's no guarantee of anything).

I do not have Listen to this device checked on any of my PC's and I can use both the Green Speaker out and the Line Out at the same time (I have separate Speaker and Line out jacks on my system).

actualy it does. If I uncheck it computer goes to sleep If I check it, it won't. Googled it and many seems to be having the same issues. I guess it must be a windows thing. Add a feauture and make another not function correctly.
As gor multiple outputs if I don't use the listen feature I can't have speaker output and spdif digigatal work at the same time.

Then you have done other things as Windows will only allow one default playback device. e.g. Speakers or S/PDIF (digital) but not both. If you have both, somehow you have circumvented the design of Windows. Let us know what you really did as there are many posts on here of users that want more than one default audio playback device.

I don't use sleep. The only thing I do is "power off" the monitor after 30 minutes. Nothing else.

I tested this on my PC and Auto-Sleep works when I use 2 Audio output devices.

What I would do if I had your issue:
- Stop any "playing media" if it is running, such as video, music, etc. ...
- Update the video driver, to a newer one if available, or an older one if I have the latest.
- Work through Brink's tutorial: Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems

Entering powercfg requestsoveride can be tricky - maybe there is a problem there.

fwiw, I always create a System Backup Image before making "System Changes" so I can easily/quickly recover ...
