Sticky Notes starts automatically

I know there are other threads out there for this but they are really old.

I am running a Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit laptop. I have used Sticky Notes before but stopped because I do not need it any longer. I have deleted all my notes and even went into the backup location and removed all saves for the notes.

I have also went into the msconfig and made sure that it was not set to start on boot up. I checked my start up folder and it is not in there either.

I have checked the registry and there is no key to allow Sticky notes from starting at boot up.

But it seems every time I reboot my machine a blank sticky note comes up.

This seems to have started about 4 months ago, I have done extensive scans for virus and malware, with nothing found. There has not been any new software installed that would cause this.

I DO NOT want to use a 3rd party software to get to stop, as I should NOT have to use one when other machines do not have this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try booting into safe mode. if it doesn't start in safe mode then it is most likely a service or process that is still running in the back ground.
Also if you could post a screen shot of your task manager process tab and service tabs that may help someone find it as well.

You can try Process Explorer(first link in my signature below). It doesn't require installation. Double-click the process for Sticky Notes and look at the Image tab. One of the fields will show "Autostart Location". Mine shows:

HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\RESTART_STICKY_NOTES

If you still can't find it anywhere, make sure you don't have Sticky Notes pinned to the Taskbar.

Ok sorry for the long delay in response... but work has been CRAZY.... but I checked the registry and there was no instance at all... I just about given up but one day I was searching my computer for files and was searching Hidden files and folders and when you search it shown other items at the bottom of the screen.. One of them was a pointer back to Sticky Notes I just deleted that file and it works.. I AM SORRY BUT I do not have a screen shot or the name of the file I was in a hurry to get things done.

In summary just search your machine for "sticky" MAKE sure your search for hidden files and folders and delete all except the program itself and it will no longer start at boot up.
