Stocks Gadget x64

It seems that my stocks gadget is not available on x64 builds. I actually use the stocks gadget (and it was included on 7100x86, 7127x86, 7137x86). However, it does not seem to exist on 7201x64 or 7229x64.

It was previously on vista x64.

Anyone know where it is hiding?

I have a backup image of vista x64 in a backup image. I have attached the image and can find the gadget in the image. However, this is just the installed gadget, not the installer for the gadget. I believe i need to install the gadget in w7 before i can use it in w7.

Any ideas on how to reinstall a gadget without the installer?

sure. in order for it to show you need to drag the files into your gadget folder.

Mine (and probably yours) is in c:\users\me\app data\local\microsoft\windows sidebar\gadgets

then you goto your desktop gadget gallery pick stocks and it should work (if all the files are in the folder you dragged)

Seem to be getting closer. I had tried to copy it directly into the c:\program files (x86)\windows sidebar\gadgets\ folder.

When I move it to where you suggested, It installs, shows up on the desktop, but says "Service Unavailable"

Other suggestions?

did you restart sidebar?

or maybe reboot?
