Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find a way to stop dialogue boxes from automatically becoming the active windows when they pop. I am frequently running multiple tasks at once, and having a dialogue box pop up and move the focus of my cursor while typing a sql script or email is extremely aggravating. I've accidentally typed passwords into dialogue boxes numerous times, if one pops up while I'm trying to remote onto another machine.

I don't want to stop them appearing altogether, just stop them from becoming the active windows.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Welcome to Seven Forums actwilder68. I did some googling, and found a possibility.

To stop "stealing focus", go to control panel>ease of access>ease of access center>make mouse easier to use: Uncheck "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse".

If you want to do some googling, suggest search term something like:

stop dialog pop ups from stealing focus windows 7

Thanks for the suggestion, that check mark is already removed. I'll keep googling using your suggestion, as the search criteria I was using was slightly different, and yielded no useful responses.
