Windows 7 64bit. Few programs open, came back from being away from the laptop for about 10 minutes and found it like this (see attached picture.) Fan running hard. This occurred yesterday, 4/29/15... but there is not mini dump?

I ran the DM program and attached the files anyway, but the dump files are from other dates?

Thanks for any insight here?

Crash dump analysis will not help you for a stop 0xC000021A BSOD.

You uploaded the dumps. That means you could log on to windows back. If the underlined statement is true, then you may overlook that issue for the time being. Otherwise, or if the issue continues, Troubleshooting will be needed for sure.

If you face this issue during booting the computer up, try Last known good configuration in advanced boot options.

If Last known good configuration does not help, Do a System Restore to an earlier (preferably earliest) point of time.

Let us know the present situation.

Yes, the user was able to restart and log back in, so we will monitor. What are some of the causes of 0xC000021A to watch out for? Since the fan was running hard, does that likely point to a graphics board issue getting to hot maybe?

Any newly attached hardware, any newly installed program or driver or updates to them, if those are mismatch with the system, the error code appears. Even if some system files or registries are damaged, this error may be seen.

Generally it is not related with system heat or malfunctioning graphics card. But a rogue update or improperly installed update to the graphics card may cause it.
