Strange Freezing

Ok.. This is kinda hard to explain as to what exactly is happening.. But heres the best i can do to explain it:

• When I start my computer and log in, all is fine, but after around 5 minutes, it will freeze and go on to a coloured screen.
• (The colour of the screen will depend on my Windows colour, for example, if my windows colour is blue, the screen will turn blue, if my windows colour is green, the screen will turn green etc..)
• But, when i reset my computer this will not happen.

Now the more confusing part (for me anyway), it seems to only happen on a odd number of "start ups", example:

• First start up = freezing, then after restart.
• Second start up = No freezing.
• Then if I leave my computer to sleep, when exiting sleep it will freeze. :sarc:

Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like graphics card drivers or possibly chipset , are all of these fully up to date ?

+1 ... I can almost guarantee this is a gfx driver issue. Enter event viewer in your searchbox... go to application logs and check for any critical errors, take a screenshot and attach it to your next post... needless to say you should update your video card driver to the latest version...

I just updated my Graphics card, and all seems to be going well. I realy should of updated hem before posting this, its seems such a simpe answer. I assumed I would of gotten an alert to warn me my drivers were out of date. However I am a novice when it comes to computers. Thanks.
