Strange HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID

Customizing a clients windows 7 and ran into a problem with customizing the Navigation Pane.
There is no HKEY\CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID! There is a clsid which is empty except for Default in right column which will not open due to a "Error Editing Value - Cannot edit:Error reading the value's contents.

Have never ran into this as CLSID has hundreds of entries. Computer works fine and client reports no issues.
Any ideas?

Hi Ron,

run sfc /scannow and chkdsk, should repair the default values on clsid.

Not really concerned at this point about the customization as I have everything Brink has done on customization in a folder on my computer. Mainly concerned about the corruption to HKEY\CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID and how it will affect the computer in the future. I have suggested to client that he do a clean reinstall Win7. After extensive research, that is the only resolution I can come up with.

DONT take this as gospel, but i believe as long as its also here the comp will work fine

That might explain why there appears to be no issues.
