strange HP 1020 printer issue

yesterday when i try to print two pdf documents, the printer queue showed "printing" for 5-10 sec and then queue status changed from printing to deleting for the first job. neither it would print nor it would let me delete the file from print que, even after several system restart.

after doing driver reinstall it showed the original print jobs and then again win7 will try to delete the first print job, without me doing anything. the problem disappeared in the morning.

Win7 Home Premium 32 bit, 1.6GHz Duo Core, 1GB RAM

I am assuming it is a networked printer. Did the file clear after the printer was restarted?

well printer is attached to win7 system via usb and was briefly shared with xp system. the files i printed was from win7 machine..........
