Strange incident - Hopefully Nothing

Hello,
I recently set up my non-SP1 RC Windows 7 from a single Administrator/User account to an Administrator account I named the original account Owner, and two standard accounts. All went well. Shared Public Music. Cool. After about 2 days the Owner account which had changed to Administrator ( I don't know if it was the hidden Administrator Account ) as I did nothing to unhide it. I just changed the Administrator/User account to Administrator only. Well as I was saying after 2 days I booted the computer and the Administrator account name was changed to "Me". I went into users and changed it to Administrator and it seems to be holding.
I may not know what to do, but I do know what I did. I never changed the account name to "Me". Can anyone offer any reasonable explanation of this phenomena?
Curious and mildly concerned. Thanks to those whose assistance and forbearance is received.

I'm a bit confused here but let's see if I have got this right. You had he Hidden Default Administrator account and another account call Administrator/User on the PC at the same time. You then renamed the Administrator/User account to just Administrator. So two accounts with the same name!!!!!
Just confirm if I am correct so far.

Yes you have stated it correctly, but with the condition that prior to the naming the default Administrator/User Account to Administrator - I added another two plain User accounts. Up to speed. Thanks you for your help.

Not Hidden Admin if you didn't run the enable command, just renamed the Admin-level User Account which is the account-type set up during install for owner.

Howdy gregrocker,
In your knowledgeable opinion, is it worth changing the quasi-Administrator account to the REAL hidden Administrator account? And thanks for the info.

No, I would not touch that as it is only for the most experienced users.

The average owner can function in quasi-Admin account assigned at setup, however Rich46 suggested some time back that you only operate as a Standard User with which I concur.

Am back now that I have sorted my own problem thanks to Brink and Kerry. I think there is something wrong here because i have now replicated your system and although you confirmed that you did have two accounts with the same name this cannot be. Windows 7 does not allow this! Also you say one account was named Administrator/User but this cannot be either as the / is not allowed in the name.
What position were to trying to achieve? How many accounts and what names do you want? Forget all about the default Admin that is best left alone!

Glad to hear you up and running now! When I first installed W7 Ultimate 64 bit on my newly built computer, it setup a Admin/User account for me. I had many privileges that a standard user doesn't have. Ran that way for months. I then created a standard user account because it was suggested that it is safer to use the machine without the advanced privileges. I checked my initial account and it stated it was Admin/User. I changed it to Administrator only, with the same name as before "Owner".
This information is incorrect!! I now remember!!
I am now trying to remember exactly what happened and I believe fairly surely that it changed the Administrator account (I believe gregrocker stated it wasn't the Hidden Real Administrator Account, but a quasi-Admin account). Ran that way for a day or two?? and booted one morning and the Administrator account login was now named "Me". It kept the password I had been using during that time and I could log on. I went into Control Panel and renamed it Administrator. Since then it has been coming up as Administrator with no more self-changes.

It kept the "Owner" as the Account name. It then changed itself to "Me". I went in and changed it back to "Owner" and it has stayed that way since.
What I want is an Administrator account, a quasi-Administrator account is OK because I haven't needed to do anything that the reputedly Hidden Administrator Account can do. I also want two plain User Accounts. Which I setup and now seem to be working correctly. Somehow I managed to let the User Accounts access the Public Music Account so all have access to my downloaded music. That to seems to work. I am easily confused with that Home Group thing. I am at the mercy of you intelligent guys and gals about what state my Administrator Account is, and is it safe and appropriate to leave it that way and also why it did rename itself to "Me", without me doing anything of that sort? Quoting "Marathon Man", "Is it safe?". I really would appreciate knowing my status and if it requires any changes to be stable and safe!!!!

An account must be one or the other. The Administrator has all he privileges of the Standard User and more so you can't have a "joint" account as it were. Where did you see you had an account "Admin/User" as you said above " I checked my initial account and it stated it was Admin/User."

What I had was the account that is the default first user account with Administrative privileges. I must say you are convincing me I don't remember well, but I am pretty sure when I went into the Control Panel > Users it should me as the current user and it said Administrator/User because I then created the first standard user account and went back into the original account and changed it to Administrator. I may be wrong, so, I am currently unable to cognitively recall exactly what it said, but I am leaning toward what I said above, yet I believe you are probably correct, so..........

I 99.999% certain that you cannot have a user name with a "/" sign in the title. Try to rename one of your users by just adding "/one" and see what messag you get!

I tried and of course you were correct. Confused, not first time and not last. I will assume I now have a quasi-Admin account and two standards with guest turned off.
I am still concerned how the account named changed from Owner to Me without my conscious intervention. I know gregrocker and he stated that my current status for privileges under my non-standard account is prudent and a safe situation. And continue to run under a user account.
