I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but here goes:

I do a little bit of tech support as part of my job and about a year ago I installed a couple of HP TouchSmart computers for some customers running Windows Vista Business 64-bit. (I think that's the version of Vista, there are too many to remember :) It was 64-bit I do remember that for sure).

Just before Christmas I upgraded both of them to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Everything seemed to work fine. However now they are both experience weird keyboard problems. When they type the keyboard will become unresponsive or delayed. Sometimes they can't type at all and some times when they type nothing will happen initially and then what they typed will show up after the fact. Usually with a delay of a couple of seconds.

One of them is using the stock HP wireless keyboard and one is using a MS ergo wireless keyboard. Since they are both having the same problem with different keyboards it seems like an OS issue to me.

I've done a remote log in session with their computers and it accepts input from my typing from a remote computer with no problems.

Their office is about an hour away, so I haven't had the chance yet to go over there and test out a keyboard with a USB connection rather than wireless, but aside from that I'm not sure what to try hardware wise. The keyboards they are using worked find in Vista.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check the link and see if the drivers could be the issue. If that happens to be it I'll post back with the results.

Thanks!

chuskey, did this issue ever get resolved?

I'm currently suffering from a very similar issue;

I'm using a Logitech 'Wave' Mouse/ Keyboard combo via USB receiver and running the SetPoint latest 6.0 driver (Vista driver for use with Win7 x64).

On occasion, when typing (especially into forms, e.g. Start Menu search field, online forms etc.) I get very severe delays between keyboard input and character display.
I'm talking from anywhere between 5 - 30 second delays...

I've contacted Logitech, who's solution was to empty the cache of the keyboard via battery removal, but the problem persists.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the issue lies with Win 7, not with the hardware itself (Computer & Keyboard are 8 days old)....

Can anyone suggest any solutions?
It's very very annoying... :mad:

Cheers!
