Strange Keyboard Problem

We just purchased a Dell Latitude E6400 with Windows 7 a few days ago. It does this in any program. For example, when I and typing an email, different letters act as shortcuts. I will press a letter and something prints, it opens internet explorer, opens a new email, opens other programs, closes programs... the list goes on and on.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not pressing the window key for the shortcuts and the stickykeys is not turned on.

Do you have an other keyboard you can try? Sounds like a key is shorted or something.

I agree. the shortcut for Printing is CTRL+P so if you type P and it prints then either there is a short or the CTRL key is stuck in On mode....

Are you still getting this issue, and does the same key always invoke the same action? Unfortunately, I cannot find any reference to the keyboard layout on the Dell website, so I can only surmise that it is a keyboard setting, possibly involving the Ctrl, Alt and/or Fn key.

Random keys do random things. Very weird.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and that worked! Maybe something was configured wrong.. not sure. But I'm good now! Thanks!
