Strange..Pc won't boot past windows log

hello, this is very strange.
Today I turned my computer on and it stopped at the "Windows Error Recovery".

From the 2 options given I chose "Start Windows Normally"....
After pressing Enter it will not go beyond the black screen where it says "Starting Windows" and inmediately reboots to the "Windows Error Recovery" again.
I then chose the other option which is "Launch Startup Repair", entered the Disk, wait for it to load system files but it reboots to the Disk loading the files again like an eternal loop.

Tried the F8 Advance booting options, chose "boot in safe mode with command prompt", it starts loading but then it reboots itself again!!

I don t know what is going on, this is very strange, yesterday I worked all day in the computer...

My system specs are these:

>XFX Nforce 750i SLI
>Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2666 MHz
>3x2gb Corsair CM2X2048-6400C5 DIMM DDR2 PC2-6400U DDR2-800 (5-5-5-18 3-22-6-3)
>ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series
>WD Caviar Blue 500gb

yes I tried to do that, but when I choose "repair your computer" I get directed to the Boot Manager.
From there I followed directions: inserted Disk but then the problem described in my thread happens..

When I choose Safe mode computer reboots itself again, please read the entire thread...

Can you tap "Del" or whatever key it is for you to get into the BIOS? If you can, your hardware likely isn't having an issue. Did you try any of the other tutorials I gave to you, namely SFC?

Yes I have acces to the BIOS by hitting Del.

I tried almost all the options from the "Advance Boot Options" but it just reboots after searching for drivers and such on the black screen

It uses the CD though, read all the warnings. Failing that, you may just need to do a complete reinstall. I don't know if someone else has a better idea, but I don't know it.

the first thing I always do before wasting my time on this proscedures is recover from my (C) System partition image created with True Image, it always solves any issues inmediately, but this time it made no difference. So I guess that's would be the same as reinstalling everything, isn it ?

hey, repair install is done from inside Windows, How am I supposed to do that?

Nop, i did not have Sstem Restore active.
So in order for me to troubleshoot, would you please clarify me these doubts:

In this case, Isn't recovering from an image the same as reinstalling Windows??

How come everything just restarts My PC? anything to do with memory perhaps??

No, using an image is just using an image. It removes whatever you had before and replaces it with the image you created. A complete reinstall is the process of removing the previous windows version and installing a brand new one, without any programs or anything at all. Clean.

You can try and test your memory with the memory diagnostics tool, but I would think it had something to do with software, or whatever wen't on before it wouldn't start. I can't really tell you what it was, as you were the one to use your computer and would have a better idea than I would.

oh Dustsailor, Remember that when I use the Disk it reboots when trying to load system files, and again, and again... infinitely

So I cannot even Reinstall Windowsssss!

Yes, I resetted the BIOS... and right now I mounted the System Hard Drive on a Esata to usb docking station and it seems to be workking fine, I have full access to the hdd..., any more hints?

If you are interested in reinstalling, you might hook it up to another Sata port on your motherboard and see if you can take another crack at it. Otherwise, I think I've run out of ideas.

DustSailor, thanks for joining me...I said full acces in the sense that I can navigate through the folders inside my laptop...

GOOD NEWS.
This case has been solved...
As i told you I disconnected the HDD to put it in the Usb dock station, I had to uninstall 2 sticks of memory to do that and also disconnected the DVD drive.

I went and installed the HDD again but this time decided to turn on the computer without the 2 sticks (with just 1x2gb stick) and Voila, computer booted succesfully.

Then I reseated the same 2 ram sticks again and computer still booted succesfully. ummm

From my point of view there were 4 possible causes for this problem:

1-Memory was bad seated
2-Hdd was bad seated
3-One memory stick is dying and the same or different problem is going to happen again in the near future.
4-Hdd is dying and the same or different problem is going to happpen again in the near future.

If it's the memory then that is possibly related to some random freezes I have every once in a while.

I don.t know.
now some questions:
Should I leave my computer overnight with memory test runnning?

Should i use windows Memory Diagnostic Tool or MemTest to check my Ram stability?

What general utility would you recommend to test all my HDD (WesterDigital, Hitachy, )?

Interesting. I'll have to take note of this and for future help recommend reseating hardware. But Memtest is the better memory tester so you might use it instead, but both are fine, it isn't a bad idea to test them. But it may be a while because i think you have to test each RAM stick individually with Memtest for best results. I'm not sure what the best tool to check your HDD is, you might Bing it (doesn't have the same ring as google, does it? Google it).

Glad its working now though, that was quite interesting. Gunna have to remember this one
