Strange Problem

I have a client who is running windows 7 home premium. I explained how toremove the windows 10 icon on the taskbar. She uninstalled the kb but alas the next month it came back and she installed it again. Now she clicks on it and accidentally told it to start the windows 10 process but quickly closed it. Now it is constantly asking in a few minutes to start the procedure . I went there yesterday to see if i could stop it but there is no button to cancel it. I opened Windows update and that is the only thing sitting there asking for a restart. I cannot even get it to Check updates. So i restarted the laptop figuring if windows 10 actually started i could stop it. Only nothing happened when i rebooted- it went back to windows 7 desktop.
Again i looked in Windows Update and sure enough it is still sitting there waiting to install.

So is there a way to stop this process?

Did you try to right tick on the KB and select hide.

Did you try just removing the KB and when it came back on next Update; then select hide.

On my two system I remove GWX from the registry. Do it your own risk. Then check now and again to make sure it doesn't slip back in there.

There is nothing to hide, there is no kb showing, just the windows 10 update

Try reverting pending updates...

This is the command to run when booted offline at a recovery command prompt

dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions


This is supposed to revert all pended updates,
