Strange speed issues with all browsers.

For the last few days every time that I try to load a webpage/site it has become painfully slow to actually display the webpage and sometimes it is enough to cause a timeout.

I am currently on a 20Mbit line, But numerous test with speedtest.net are only showing me at 1.9 Mb/sec at best which is terrible.

An odd thing that I have noticed is that I can still upload/download files at maximum speed which led me to believe that it was some kind of problem with Google Chrome so I therefore have tried 3 other browsers all with the same problem.

I have also noticed that it seems to be loading the page source normally but for some reason it seems to be taking it's time to actually display the site, This seems to happen with all websites that I have tried accessing although Google seems to load in the normal way and almost instantly how it should be, That said it is still slow upon a search query.

My setup is as follows.

HP pavilion a6455

3GB DD RAM
1MB Radeon HD 5450
800 GB HDD

I know there is not a problem with the router or router settings as my other pc works fine, the only difference is that the pc with the problem is on a wireless connection and the other one is wired although this has never been a problem for me in the past apart from occasionally needing to change the wireless channel to obtain a better signal.

I hope someone can help me with this problem as I am almost at the point of doing a full re-install of Win7, But this really is a last resort option for me as I have a hell of a lot of things that I don't want to lose and I don't have sufficient media to back it all up although I would like to, If I had a better upload speed I would consider uploading it to a cloud storage or something like that,,anyway that's kinda going off topic a little.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Perfect except for my video playback problems.
Plays all games great which surprises me seeing it is 3+ years old now.
I doubt that it will but I hope it lasts me another 3 years, Even if I do have to add more RAM and most definately another GFX Card.,
Under your wifi signal strength icon beside the clock in the taskbar, and right-click your connected network and click Status. Under Speed, what setting does it say? It sounds like it may be a driver issue with the wireless card on that PC. I had the same problem with my Lenovo laptop a while back, and reinstalling the drivers took care of it.
