Here's something strange to figure out...

I watch TV using a Cable Card receiver through Windows Media Center. While watching TV, I need to view MS Outlook, Chrome Browser and other things that I have pinned to my Windows 7 taskbar. While Windows Media Center window is active, I click on say Outlook on the taskbar and when I move my mouse into the outlook window which is smaller than the Media Center window, the Outlook window goes away from view. Its almost like the Windows Media Center window is set to always be on-top which I think is not the case. I am not sure how to check that. In order to do anything, I have to minimize my TV watching window.

Any ideas?

I assume you only have one monitor, so while watching TV open the other program that you want, which will take over the screen, move the mouse pointer to the task bar & right click & this will show some options such as cascade windows or show windows side by side. If you select side by side then you should be able to continue watching TV & view the other window at the same time.
Hope this is what you are after.

If the problem is WMC always on top, on WMC start screen go tasks, settings, general, startup and windows behaviour, and uncheck 'always keep media center on top'.

@Ranger4,
I don't want to have the windows side by side. I would rather have my tasks at hand in view while I am working on them. When I am done continue to watch TV.

@3D Jed,
I already found the settings in WMC and it was unchecked. So that's not the problem.

The only thing I can do now is minimize WMC. Thats a PITA.

This problem just started 2 days ago.

Update...

I found that this behavior only happens when I actually have a TV signal on the screen. If I have WMC open and I am just looking at the guide everything is normal. Once I click on a TV program and it's playing, the problem starts. Go figure...
